Halal Restaurants in the UK
What each chain officially says about halal, with links to full menus
A guide to finding halal food at UK restaurant chains. Halal status in the UK is often set branch by branch: one chain may have some fully halal branches and others that are not. Before you visit, check the brand’s official halal list or the certificate displayed in the restaurant.
What UK chains say about halal
| Restaurant | Official halal position | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Chaiiwala | No general halal policy page was found on chaiiwala.co.uk. One official product page (Chicken Sausage Roll) describes that item as halal (‘the British sausage roll, made halal’). This does not confirm halal status for the whole menu or every store. | Official page |
| Dishoom | Dishoom Manchester describes itself as halal-friendly rather than fully halal: its lamb, chicken and turkey come from halal-certified suppliers (it says it holds copies of the certificates). But it also serves alcohol, sausages and bacon, which it says are stored and cooked separately on dedicated griddles/pans. It also states its animals are stunned before slaughter. | Official page |
| Five Guys | Five Guys UK lists a small number of fully halal-certified restaurants (for example Birmingham Fort, London Park Royal and Manchester Arndale) with halal beef and no pork or alcohol. Some other sites use halal beef but also serve pork bacon, cooked separately, and are not fully certified. Many restaurants in England, Scotland and Wales serve no halal products, so check the official list for each site. | Official page |
| Franco Manca | The official menu marks some items with (H) for halal: the marinated chicken and the Genovese beef ragù. Other meats, such as cured pork, are not marked halal. | Official page |
| Harry Ramsden’s | Halal-certified meat and poultry are only available at the Notting Hill restaurant. Other locations can cook in vegetable oil instead of beef dripping on request but are not Halal-certified. | Official page |
| Harvester | Harvester says none of its menu meals are prepared or cooked to a halal standard. That all animals from its suppliers are stunned before slaughter. | Official page |
| Heavenly Desserts | The official menu PDF states that all products are halal and that the brand does not use or buy ingredients containing alcohol or other non-halal components. | Official page |
| Krispy Kreme | Krispy Kreme UK says it considers its products suitable for people following a halal diet, but it is not halal certified. | Official page |
| MyLahore | MyLahore’s official FAQ states all its food is 100% halal, with meat and poultry sourced from British and Irish farms. That it does not sell alcohol or allow customers to bring their own. | Official page |
| Nando’s | Nando’s says its restaurants are not halal as a whole. But a number of UK restaurants serve 100% certified halal chicken and handle no pork ingredients. It lists those restaurants by region and says the halal chicken is pre-stunned and kept separate through the supply chain. | Official page |
| Pizza Hut | Pizza Hut says none of the food served at its dine-in restaurants is halal certified. | Official page |
| PizzaExpress | PizzaExpress says some of its chicken comes from suppliers using halal slaughter methods. But it is not halal-certified, its kitchens do not follow halal preparation standards. They handle pork and alcohol. So it cannot guarantee any dish is halal. Ask staff about a specific dish. | Official page |
| Prezzo | Prezzo’s FAQ says it does not currently offer halal meat in its restaurants. | Official page |
| Toby Carvery | Toby Carvery says none of the meals on its menus are prepared or cooked to a halal standard. That meat sourcing is based on animal welfare, food safety and quality standards. | Official page |
| Wahaca | Wahaca’s FAQ says it does not currently serve halal meat. | Official page |
| Wetherspoon | Wetherspoon says it has not asked suppliers for halal-certified meat, has no plans to, and does not prepare or cook meals to a halal standard. It states all livestock is stunned before slaughter. | Official page |
| Zizzi | Zizzi says it is not a halal or kosher restaurant. Because its restaurants serve pork and beef and it has no handling or sourcing policies to make dishes halal or kosher. | Official page |
We found no official halal statement for Wagamama, Mowgli Street Food, Bundobust, Poppies Fish & Chips, Rockfish, GAIL’s Bakery, Greggs, Pret A Manger. Ask your local branch.

How we label halal options
On each menu page we summarise what the brand itself says about halal food and link to its official source. If a brand does not publish this, we say so rather than guess. Read our disclaimer for more.
