Best value proper dishes

Sides, snacks and sharing boxes fill most of the list above. Want a single full plate instead? These dishes cost at least their chain’s typical price, with sharing boxes left out. They give the most calories per £1:

What this number does and does not tell you

  • It measures energy, not nutrition. A high score can mean lots of fat or sugar.
  • It ignores portion quality and taste. Use it to compare value, then check the full menu.
  • Items with “from” prices or calorie ranges are left out, because we cannot pin down an exact figure.

Plan your own meal: add dishes from any of these menus and see the total price and calories instantly.

No. This is a value measure only. Check calories against your daily needs and the brand’s nutrition guide.

How we worked this out: every figure comes from the official menus we checked on 23 October 2026. We used one named branch or official menu per chain, and each menu page says which. Most UK chains set prices branch by branch. So your local prices may differ. Drinks, sauces, dips and add-ons are left out. Only items with an exact price and a single calorie figure are scored.
